Job Summary
The Team Manager provides leadership and direction to the Data Analytics Team (DAT), a central analytics function supporting all areas of the business. This role reports to the Sr. Director, Reporting & Analytics and operates within the Revenue organization.
DAT partners across the entire company—Sales, Client Success, Marketing, and Product—to deliver creative, data-driven solutions. This includes pipeline insights for Sales, client and CSM support, market trend analysis for Marketing, and product adoption analysis and feature recommendations for Product. The team leverages terabytes of data from our evolving Data Lake to drive strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate embraces a proactive, partnership-focused approach and is excited to play a visible, influential role in helping Emplifi become more data-driven. We’re looking for someone who can translate business problems into analytical solutions, guide the team in delivering high-quality work, and is not afraid to dive deep into the data when needed.
What You’ll Do Here
Team Leadership
- Establishes a clear vision and mission for the team and creates actionable plans to achieve them.
- Supports efficient delivery by clearly defining requirements, removing blockers, and relentlessly prioritizing work.
- Develops a proactive, self-managed team culture with strong ownership and accountability—without micromanagement.
- Encourages team members to build strong collaborative relationships with business partners and play an active, consultative role in their projects (bringing new ideas, proposing alternatives, and balancing stakeholder needs).
- Drives personal and professional growth by creating opportunities such as increased responsibilities, project leadership, stakeholder education, internships, and peer mentorship.
Stakeholder Management
- Manages stakeholder expectations by setting commitments, explaining feasibility, aligning on realistic deadlines, and communicating potential risks in a timely, transparent manner.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to improve products, services, and stakeholder workflows, helping partners become more data-driven.
- Establishes strong communication channels with key stakeholders to ensure continuous feedback, shared vision, and early detection of challenges.
- Continuously strengthens communication and conflict-resolution skills, stepping in when projects require course correction and ensuring collaboration remains constructive—even during difficult moments.
- Adapts communication style to cultural differences across a global organization, fostering mutual understanding and respect.
Technology & Data
- Actively expands understanding of the technologies and tools used by the team.
- Has hands-on experience with Python (especially Pandas and NumPy for automation), strong SQL skills, and confidence working with large datasets (terabytes). Experience with APIs and PySpark is a plus.
- Works closely with senior analysts or a Teach Lead to drive the team’s technical development and integrate innovative ideas, tools, and advanced analytics (including ML and LLMs) into daily work.
- Supports initiatives to modernize and upgrade the development stack, recognizing that productivity and quality depend on strong technologies and robust workflows.
