Latin America finance social media benchmarks for Q3 2026 show Instagram far ahead of Facebook: the median finance brand in Latin America earned 34 interactions per Instagram post in September, against five on Facebook. Median engagement reached up to 2.01% on Instagram and up to 0.74% on Facebook, both the highest levels in 15 months. Reels led on Instagram with a median of 51.5 interactions per post.
This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 1,414 Facebook pages and 666 Instagram profiles of finance brands in Latin America, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution saw these average uplifts in Q3 2026:
The figures come from Emplifi’s Worldwide Brands UGC benchmark, averaged across 68 to 83 accounts per metric. That benchmark covers brands in every category and region, so it is not specific to finance or to Latin America.
Finance is one of the most visible categories in Latin America. On Facebook it publishes 13.5% of brand posts, more than any other category broken out in the data, and draws 7.0% of interactions. On Instagram it ranks third for interactions with 9.0%, behind ecommerce and alcohol, from 11.3% of posts. Services leads Facebook with 24.5% of interactions.
Facebook interaction distribution (Q3 2026):
| Category | Share of total interactions |
|---|---|
| Services | 24.5% |
| Gambling | 13.5% |
| Ecommerce | 12.6% |
| Finance | 7.0% |
| Retail | 4.2% |
| Others | 38.2% |
Instagram interaction distribution (Q3 2026):
| Category | Share of total interactions |
|---|---|
| Ecommerce | 29.7% |
| Alcohol | 20.2% |
| Finance | 9.0% |
| Fashion | 7.0% |
| Beauty | 4.4% |
| Others | 29.7% |
The tables list the five categories with the most interactions among those the data breaks out for the region, which are the region’s most active publishers plus finance. Others combines every remaining category.
Finance brands in Latin America have audiences of almost the same size on both platforms, and they post at a similar pace of three to four times a week. The difference is response: the median Instagram profile collected about 6.5 times the interactions of the median Facebook page over the quarter.

| Median followers / fans | 44,332 | 47,834 |
| Median posts published (quarter) | 45 | 42 |
| Median total interactions (quarter) | 2,805 | 434 |
This metric follows the middle-ranked page or profile each month, so a handful of viral accounts can’t inflate it.

Instagram has been remarkably stable, moving between 30.5 and 37 for the whole period and ending September 2026 at 34, the same as in July 2025. Facebook started at eight, held at seven for most of the period and stepped down to six in mid-2026 and five in September, its lowest point.
Indexing each platform to its own 15-month peak makes the two easier to compare despite their different scales.
Instagram finished September 2026 at 92% of its May 2026 high. Facebook ended at 62.5% of its peak, the lowest reading for either platform in the period.
Impressions count how often posts were displayed, whether or not anyone interacted. They measure visibility, not engagement.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post impressions |
|---|---|
| 2,291 | |
| 1,471 |
Instagram impressions are about half their October 2025 peak of 4,561. They fell through early 2026 and have held between about 2,000 and 2,500 since February. Facebook impressions peaked at 3,022 in December 2025 and fell in each month of Q3, from 2,062 in July to 1,471 in September. The decline is not specific to finance: median Facebook impressions for all brands in Latin America fell from 2,529 in July 2025 to about 1,030 in September 2026.
Median post engagement rates this quarter:
Across the quarter’s three months, Instagram’s median ranged from 1.50% to 2.01% and Facebook’s from 0.50% to 0.74%. Instagram’s rate has roughly doubled since late 2025, from a low of 0.96% in November 2025, and September’s jump took it to its highest level of the period. Facebook moved between 0.49% and 0.74% across the 15 months, also peaking in September 2026.
From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.
Facebook: Live Video earned a median of 31 interactions per post, about three times any other format, but it made up only 0.46% of finance brands’ Facebook posts in September. Links came second. Reels and photos, which together account for almost all posts, earned five and four.
Instagram: Reels led by a wide margin with 51.5, ahead of carousels at 32 and single images at 25.

On Instagram, Reels earn the most and are already the main format, so the gains come from making each one count. On Facebook, where Reels and photos sit near the bottom of the format table, test links and the occasional Live Video.
