Reels led on Instagram, and Live Video, though rarely used, drew by far the most interactions on Facebook.
This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 1,005 Facebook pages and 764 Instagram profiles in the beauty category in Latin America, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.

Instagram dipped to 42 in December 2025, then climbed back month by month to 50 in September 2026, close to its August 2025 high of 52.5. Facebook has hovered around five for most of the period, starting at 5.5 in July 2025 and ending the quarter at four.
Set against its own 15-month peak, Instagram ended September 2026 at 95%, up from 80% in December 2025. Facebook finished at 73% of its July 2025 high.
Impressions measure how often posts were displayed, regardless of whether anyone interacted, so they track visibility rather than engagement.

| 1,273 |
Facebook impressions fell sharply late in the quarter, from 2,399 in July 2026 to 1,273 in September, the lowest month of the period and less than a third of the September 2025 peak of 4,155. Instagram impressions bottomed out at 2,293 in March 2026 and recovered to a range of about 2,700 to 3,400 in Q3, still below the 5,058 recorded in August 2025. Lower Facebook reach is a regional pattern: median Facebook impressions for all brands in Latin America fell from 2,529 in July 2025 to 1,027 in September 2026.
Median post engagement rates this quarter:
Instagram’s monthly median ranged from 1.64% to 1.86% in Q3 and Facebook’s from 0.55% to 0.69%. Instagram’s rate has more than doubled since its September 2025 low of 0.87%, with September 2026 the best month of the period. Facebook moved the other way, from a high of 0.78% in September 2025 to the period’s low in July 2026.
From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.
Facebook: Live Video posts drew a median of 212.5 interactions, more than 20 times the next format, yet they made up only 0.14% of beauty brands’ Facebook posts in September. Links came second, ahead of photos, Reels and status updates, which tied.
Instagram: Reels led, carousels followed and single images trailed only a little, so the gap between formats is narrower than on Facebook.
