Body care social media benchmarks for Q3 2026 show Instagram well ahead of Facebook: the median body care brand’s Instagram post earned 25 interactions in September, against four on Facebook, Facebook’s lowest in 15 months. Median engagement reached up to 2.08% on Instagram, a 15-month high, and up to 0.57% on Facebook across the quarter. Carousels and Reels tied on Instagram, and links led on Facebook.
This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 517 Facebook pages and 293 Instagram profiles in the worldwide body care category, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution saw these average uplifts in Q3 2026:
The figures come from Emplifi’s Worldwide Brands UGC benchmark, averaged across 68 to 83 accounts per metric. That benchmark covers brands in every category, so it is not specific to body care.
Ecommerce brands collect the largest share of Facebook interactions of any category broken out in the data, and fashion leads Instagram with more than 40%. The data counts body care within beauty, the second-largest Instagram category by interactions: 13.5% of interactions on 21.7% of brand posts. On Facebook beauty is small, with 2.0% of posts and 2.1% of interactions.
Facebook interaction distribution (Q3 2026):
| Category | Share of total interactions |
|---|---|
| Ecommerce | 31.3% |
| Finance | 7.8% |
| Services | 4.8% |
| Auto | 4.1% |
| Retail | 3.5% |
| Others | 48.6% |
Instagram interaction distribution (Q3 2026):
| Category | Share of total interactions |
|---|---|
| Fashion | 40.4% |
| Beauty | 13.5% |
| Ecommerce | 8.3% |
| Sporting goods | 7.4% |
| Auto | 5.1% |
| Others | 25.1% |
The table shows the five categories with the largest interaction share among the region’s highest-posting categories. Others combines every remaining category.
Body care brands have the bigger audience on Facebook, where the median page has about 80% more fans than the median Instagram profile. Instagram gets far more attention from brands, though: more posts and about seven times the interactions over the quarter.

| Median followers / fans | 35,397 | 64,867 |
| Median posts published (quarter) | 34 | 20 |
| Median total interactions (quarter) | 1,241 | 167 |
The median follows the middle-ranked page or profile each month, so a few viral brands can’t skew it.

Instagram has bounced between 23 and 31 without a clear trend and closed September at 25. Facebook has roughly halved, from 7.5 in July 2025 to four, a level it first hit in June 2026.
Against its own 15-month high, Instagram finished September at 81% of its September 2025 peak. Facebook ended at 53% of its July 2025 level, the lowest reading for either platform.
Impressions count how often posts were displayed, whether or not anyone interacted. They measure visibility, not engagement.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post impressions |
|---|---|
| 1,152 | |
| 861 |
Instagram posts were displayed slightly more often than Facebook posts in September, and both series are erratic, partly because the body care sample is small. Instagram moved between about 870 and 2,700 with no lasting direction. Facebook spiked above 20,000 in August and September 2025, then fell for most of the period to its lowest point in September 2026. Median Facebook impressions for brands worldwide also fell over the period, from about 1,500 to 779.
Median post engagement rates this quarter:
Instagram’s median ranged from 1.59% to 2.08% across the quarter, and Facebook’s from 0.31% to 0.57%. Instagram’s rate rose from a low of 1.16% in October 2025 to its September 2026 high. Facebook swung between 0.25% and 0.67% over the 15 months, so a single month says little.
From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.
Facebook: Links and Live Video led, each earning more than three times a photo or Reel. Both are rare: together they made up about 1.3% of body care brands’ Facebook posts in September. Status updates came last.
Instagram: Carousels and Reels tied, about a quarter ahead of single images.

Use these medians as a reference point for body care brands, not a ceiling. Pull the same measures for your own profiles and compare them with the September 2026 figures above:
On Instagram, carousels match Reels and beat single images, so swapping single images for carousels is the simplest gain. On Facebook, where photos and Reels earn three interactions, test links and live sessions. With a small sample and volatile monthly figures, compare several months of your own data rather than one.
