Facebook has been steady, moving between 8.5 and 11 for the whole period. Instagram held between 19 and 24 until August 2026, peaking in February 2026, then fell to 18 in September, its lowest point in the period.
Indexing each platform to its own 15-month peak makes the two easier to compare despite their different scales.
Facebook finished September 2026 at 82% of its peak. Instagram ended at 75% of its February 2026 high, the lowest reading for either platform in the period.
Impressions count how often posts were displayed, whether or not anyone interacted. They measure visibility, not engagement.
Emplifi’s dataset has too few FMCG food profiles in Middle East Markets with impression data this quarter, so the impressions below are the Asia FMCG food medians.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post impressions (Asia FMCG food) |

| 1,286 |
In the Asia FMCG food series, Instagram impressions are about 40% of their October 2025 peak of 4,915, with the steepest fall between October 2025 and January 2026. Facebook impressions moved between about 1,150 and 2,930 over the 15 months and ended September at 1,286.
Emplifi’s dataset has too few FMCG food profiles in Middle East Markets with impression data this quarter, so the engagement rates below are the Asia FMCG food medians.
Median post engagement rates this quarter (Asia FMCG food):
Across the quarter’s three months, the Instagram median ranged from 1.65% to 1.88% and the Facebook median from 0.20% to 0.37%, with Facebook at 0.20% in September. The Instagram rate more than doubled between November 2025 and March 2026, from 0.80% to 1.98%. The Facebook rate is down from 0.68% in July 2025.
From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.

Instagram: Carousels led with a median of 25, ahead of Reels at 22 and single images at 15, although carousels are by far the least-used format.

The data has no separate Middle East Markets series for ad cost trends this quarter, so the table compares the FMCG food benchmark with Emplifi’s all-brands benchmark, which also pools ad accounts across all regions. Figures are for September 2026 with the quarter’s monthly range:
| Metric | FMCG food benchmark | All-brands benchmark |
|---|---|---|
| CPM (USD) | 1.03 (0.92 to 1.03) | 2.09 (1.83 to 2.09) |
| CTR (%) | 0.27 (0.25 to 0.27) | 1.13 (1.06 to 1.13) |
FMCG food ads cost about half as much per thousand impressions as the all-brands benchmark but draw a much lower CTR. FMCG food CPM moved between $0.84 and $1.15 over the 15 months, peaking in November 2025, and its CTR between 0.21% and 0.29%. All-brands CTR rose from 0.86% in July 2025 to 1.13% in September 2026, its highest point. No monthly CPC series is available.
Treat these medians as a calibration point for FMCG food brands in Middle East Markets, not a ceiling. Pull the same measures for your own Facebook and Instagram profiles and set them against the September 2026 figures above:
Keep the region’s own interaction medians as the main yardstick, since the impressions and engagement rates in this report are Asia FMCG food figures. On Instagram, test more carousels; on Facebook, keep shifting photo volume toward Reels.
This report is produced quarterly from Emplifi’s proprietary social media dataset, drawn from the platform used by more than 22,000 brands worldwide.
Data collection: Data is pulled once per quarter and reflects the state of Emplifi’s database at the start of the quarter following the period analyzed. It is not updated between releases.
Sample: 221 Facebook brand pages and 172 Instagram brand profiles of FMCG food brands in Middle East Markets, July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026. Median post impressions and engagement rates use the Asia FMCG food series, because the regional sample with impression data was too small this quarter.
Reporting period: Monthly metrics are reported for September 2026, the final month of the quarter, and trend commentary covers July 2025 through September 2026. The ads trend series also covers July 2025 through September 2026.
Minimum thresholds: Reports require a minimum of 50 Instagram profiles and 50 Facebook pages for a given region and industry combination. Interaction distribution data requires a minimum of 300 profiles. Ad benchmarks require a minimum of 200 active ad accounts from the region or industry.
All costs are in USD. All figures are medians unless otherwise noted; UGC uplifts are averages. Data is first normalized at the profile or page level before aggregation.
