Latin America electronics social media benchmarks for Q3 2026 show Instagram doing almost all the work: the median electronics brand’s Instagram post earned 40 interactions in September, ten times the four it earned on Facebook. Median engagement reached up to 2.31% on Instagram, its highest level in 15 months, and up to 0.76% on Facebook. Carousels led on Instagram, and on Facebook, links outperformed every other format.
This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 601 Facebook pages and 374 Instagram profiles of electronics brands in Latin America, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution saw these average uplifts in Q3 2026:
The figures come from Emplifi’s Worldwide Brands UGC benchmark, averaged across 68 to 83 accounts per metric. That benchmark covers brands worldwide in every category, so it is not specific to electronics or to Latin America.
Services brands draw the biggest share of Facebook interactions among the categories broken out for Latin America, with gambling and ecommerce next. On Instagram, ecommerce and alcohol together account for half of all brand interactions. Electronics behaves very differently on the two platforms: it publishes 1.0% of Facebook brand posts but collects only 0.3% of interactions, while on Instagram its 3.1% of posts earns 4.7% of interactions, enough to place it among the top five categories.
Facebook interaction distribution (Q3 2026):
| Category | Share of total interactions |
|---|---|
| Services | 24.5% |
| Gambling | 13.5% |
| Ecommerce | 12.6% |
| Finance | 7.0% |
| Retail | 4.2% |
| Others | 38.2% |
Instagram interaction distribution (Q3 2026):
| Category | Share of total interactions |
|---|---|
| Ecommerce | 29.7% |
| Alcohol | 20.2% |
| Finance | 9.0% |
| Fashion | 7.0% |
| Electronics | 4.7% |
| Others | 29.4% |
The categories listed are those with the most brand posts in Latin America, plus electronics. Others combines every remaining category.
The two platforms start from similar audiences: the median electronics brand has about 77,000 Instagram followers and about 66,000 Facebook fans, and it posts a little more often on Instagram. The return is not similar at all. Over the quarter, the median Instagram profile collected more than 18 times the interactions of the median Facebook page.
| Metric | ||
|---|---|---|
| Median followers / fans | 77,142 | 65,645 |
| Median posts published (quarter) | 43 | 35 |
| Median total interactions (quarter) | 3,513 | 190 |
This metric follows the middle-ranked page or profile each month, so a handful of viral accounts can’t inflate it.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post interactions |
|---|---|
| 40 | |
| 4 |
Instagram opened the period at 45 interactions in July 2025, slid to 31 by December 2025, and has climbed back unevenly since, finishing Q3 at 40 after 36 and 35 in July and August. Facebook moved the other way: it held at six for the first seven months, eased to five in early 2026 and ended the quarter at four.
Indexing each platform to its own 15-month peak makes the two easier to compare despite their different scales.
Instagram closed September 2026 at 89% of its July 2025 high, well above its December 2025 low of 69%. Facebook finished at 67% of its peak, the lowest point of the period for either platform.
Impressions count how often posts were displayed, whether or not anyone interacted. They measure visibility, not engagement.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post impressions |
|---|---|
| 2,492 | |
| 564 |
Instagram impressions peaked at 4,034 in August 2025, bottomed out at 1,461 in April 2026 and recovered during Q3, reaching 3,391 in August before settling at 2,492 in September. Facebook impressions fell from a peak of 1,373 in October 2025 to 564 in September 2026, the lowest point of the period. That decline is not limited to electronics: median Facebook impressions for all brands in Latin America fell from 2,529 in July 2025 to about 1,027 in September 2026.
Median post engagement rates this quarter:
Across the quarter’s three months, Instagram’s median ranged from 1.92% to 2.31% and Facebook’s from 0.75% to 0.76%. Instagram’s September rate is the highest in the 15-month window and more than double its November 2025 low of 0.98%. Facebook stayed within a 0.61% to 0.84% band for the whole period.
From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.
Facebook: Links earned the most interactions, a median of seven per post, ahead of Reels at five. Links are rare, though: they made up 0.7% of electronics brands’ Facebook posts in September. Photos and status updates trailed at three, and Live Video earned a median of one.
Instagram: Carousels came out on top, eight interactions ahead of Reels, with single images further behind.

Photos fell from 65.0% to 50.3% over the same period. On Instagram, Reels already made up about half of all posts (48.9% in September 2026). On Instagram, test more carousels: they outperform Reels here, yet make up just over a quarter of posts. On Facebook, Reels and the occasional link post both earn more than photos, which still make up half of what electronics brands publish.
