Definition: Autonomous CX

Autonomous CX (A-CX) is an AI-driven operating model for customer experience that unifies marketing, commerce, and customer service into a single, continuously orchestrated system.

 

 

As defined and advanced by Emplifi, and operationalized through the Emplifi Autonomous CX platform, it uses AI to detect customer signals (such as behaviors, interactions, or intent), interpret them in context, and autonomously decide and execute the next best action across channels in real time.

A-CX extends functional AI (task-specific automation) and agentic AI (goal-directed workflows) into fully orchestrated, self-optimizing customer journeys. It shifts customer engagement from reactive and fragmented to proactive and lifecycle-wide optimization of customer value.
