Brandwatch and Emplifi answer different questions. Here's an honest look at where each stands, so you can match the platform to your team's actual job.
Emplifi
Emplifi (formerly Socialbakers) is a unified customer experience platform used by more than 22,000 brands worldwide. Social media publishing, listening, community, influencer management, shoppable UGC, ratings and reviews, and customer care all run on one architecture: Emplifi Fuel, powered by the Fuel AI intelligence layer, so teams can plan content, engage customers, sell products, and resolve service cases without switching systems. Pricing is outcome-based with unlimited users on most plans, keeping cost predictable as teams scale.
Brandwatch
Owned by Cision since 2021, Brandwatch is a major vessel for deep consumer intelligence, with 100M+ monitored sources. Since parent company Cision's December 2025 acquisition of Trajaan, Brandwatch now offers AI search intelligence that tracks brand visibility. Social media management runs through the former Falcon.io, and influencer marketing through Influence (formerly Paladin). Brandwatch is most common among agencies, research teams, and PR managers doing systematic audience and market analysis.
It really depends on your business goals. Brandwatch has historically been (and remains) a very strong choice for dedicated intelligence and research. It offers a 1.6-trillion-conversation archive.
Emplifi takes a different approach. Emplifi has a highly capable, AI-powered listening solution that is designed to inform publishing and care workflows more than act as a standalone research tool. Having said that, in July 2026, industry analysts recognized Emplifi as a leader in the social media listening space.
Emplifi leads in publishing execution. Its toolset includes AI-driven scheduling, autonomous calendar creation, and seamless integration with community and care data. Brandwatch’s publishing runs through its acquired Falcon.io product (now Brandwatch Publish), which is a capable multi-channel scheduler but still sits behind a separate login (app.falcon.io), distinct from Brandwatch’s Consumer Intelligence platform, consistent with Brandwatch’s positioning as a consumer intelligence specialist first.
Emplifi has a decisive advantage in both areas. It features a complete UGC platform for shoppable galleries, ratings, and reviews, as well as a dedicated enterprise Care suite equipped with an AI chatbot and unified inbox. Brandwatch does not offer commerce tools and lacks a dedicated primary care platform and chatbot.
It comes down to whether you need a research tool or a unified platform. Brandwatch functions primarily as a research and intelligence platform (with other tools like Falcon.io acquired and integrated over time), making it ideal for teams focused on deep analysis and reporting. Emplifi is built as a unified social infrastructure where publishing, commerce, and care share a single data model, making it the better fit for brands managing daily social operations in one place.
Disclaimer: This comparison reflects Emplifi’s perspective and is for general informational purposes only. Claims are drawn from publicly available sources (vendor websites, product and help-center documentation, and press releases) as of July 2026. AI tools helped gather and synthesize the research. Our team reviewed the findings against source material, but no process is error-free, and details may be incomplete or out of date. Brandwatch operates distinct products: Consumer Intelligence, Search Intelligence, and Social Media Management (the former Falcon suite). References to publishing reflect the Social Media Management product unless otherwise noted. The separate-login observation reflects publicly verifiable evidence: as of Summer 2026, Brandwatch’s own sign-in menu shows Social Media Management (“Formerly the Falcon suite”) authenticating at app.falcon.io, separate from Consumer Intelligence. This does not reflect internal Brandwatch roadmap information. Product features, pricing, and availability change frequently and may have changed since publication. Where Emplifi could not fully verify a vendor’s capability, that does not necessarily mean it doesn’t exist: a vendor may offer it through enterprise plans, private documentation, or roadmap commitments not reflected here. Readers should verify all claims directly with both vendors before making a purchasing decision.
