Asia Pacific fashion social media benchmarks for Q3 2026 show Instagram holding steady while Facebook slips: the median fashion brand’s Instagram post earned 34 interactions in September, against eight on Facebook, down from 13 in July 2025. Reels narrowly led carousels on Instagram, Live Video led on Facebook by a wide margin, and every one of the six top posts was a Reel or a carousel.
This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 1,824 Facebook pages and 1,162 Instagram profiles of fashion brands in Asia Pacific, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution saw these average uplifts in Q3 2026:
These uplifts are averages from Emplifi’s Worldwide Brands UGC benchmark, measured across 68 to 83 accounts per metric. The benchmark covers brands in every category worldwide, so it is not specific to fashion or to Asia Pacific.
Ecommerce brands dominate interactions in Asia Pacific, with 59.0% of Facebook interactions among the categories broken out and 38.7% on Instagram, where electronics comes second. Fashion holds its own on both platforms: 4.1% of Facebook brand posts for 3.9% of interactions, enough for a top-five place, and 2.1% of Instagram posts for 3.5% of interactions.
Facebook interaction distribution (Q3 2026):
| Category | Share of total interactions |
|---|---|
| Ecommerce | 59.0% |
| Services | 5.3% |
| Auto | 4.3% |
| Fashion | 3.9% |

| Beauty | 8.6% |
| Auto | 7.2% |
| Retail | 4.4% |

The categories listed are those with the most brand posts in Asia Pacific, plus fashion. Others combines every remaining category, including fashion on Instagram.
Audiences are similar in size: the median fashion page has about 129,000 Facebook fans and the median profile about 119,000 Instagram followers. Posting is similar too, 43 Facebook posts and 48 Instagram posts in the quarter. Interactions are not: the median Instagram profile collected more than four times as many.

| Median posts published (quarter) | 48 | 43 |

This metric follows the middle-ranked page or profile each month, so a handful of viral accounts can’t inflate it.

Instagram barely moved in 15 months, staying between 31 and 36 interactions per post, with the high point in August 2026. Facebook declined almost month by month, from 13 in July 2025 to 10 in March and April 2026 and eight in August and September 2026.
Indexing each platform to its own 15-month peak makes the two easier to compare despite their different scales.
Instagram finished September 2026 at 94% of its August 2026 high. Facebook ended at 62% of its July 2025 peak, the lowest point of the period for either platform.
Impressions count how often posts were displayed, whether or not anyone interacted. They measure visibility, not engagement.
Emplifi’s dataset has too few fashion profiles in Asia Pacific with impression data this quarter, so the impressions below are the Worldwide fashion medians.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post impressions |
|---|---|
| 11,995 | |
| 2,526 |
In the Worldwide fashion series, Instagram impressions fell from a peak of 31,067 in August 2025 to 11,288 in February 2026, and September’s 11,995 sits close to that low. Facebook impressions held between about 4,400 and 5,900 until July 2026, then dropped to about 2,526 by September. That decline is broad: median Facebook impressions for brands worldwide fell from about 1,500 in July 2025 to 779 in September 2026.
The engagement rates below come from the same Worldwide fashion series, for the same reason, so they are not the Asia Pacific median.
Median post engagement rates this quarter:
Across the quarter’s three months, Instagram’s median ranged from 1.07% to 1.42% and Facebook’s from 0.47% to 0.59%. Both September rates are the highest of the 15 months. Instagram’s rate more than doubled from 0.51% in August 2025, with the steepest climb between November 2025 and January 2026. Facebook rose from 0.42% in July 2025.
From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.
Facebook: Live Video earned a median of 38 interactions per post, almost five times a Reel, and made up 1.8% of fashion brands’ Facebook posts in September. Reels, status updates, links and photos all earned between six and eight.
Instagram: Reels (38) and carousels (35) finished close together, with single images at 26.
Full organic post type performance (Q3 2026):
| Post type | Platform | Median post interactions |
|---|---|---|
| Live Video | 38 | |
| Reel | 8 | |
| Status | 7 | |
| Link | 6 | |
| Photo | 6 | |
| Reel | 38 | |
| Carousel | 35 | |
| Image | 26 |
Post type distribution trends:
Photos still make up almost two thirds of fashion brands’ Facebook posts in Asia Pacific (64.1% in September 2026, down from 75.3% in July 2025). Reels rose from 12.2% to 23.7% in October 2025 and 31.0% in September 2026, while status updates fell from 8.7% to 2.2%. On Instagram, carousels are the most-used format and still growing, from 39.9% to 44.9% of posts. Reels held at about 36%, and single images fell from 23.9% to 19.4%.

|---|---|---|
| CPM (USD) | 2.69 (2.14 to 2.69) | 0.83 (0.65 to 0.83) |

Asia Pacific’s overall CPM is far lower, but at $0.83 in September it reached a 15-month high, and the regional CTR also peaked in September at 1.22%. No monthly CPC series is available.
Treat these medians as a calibration point for fashion brands in Asia Pacific, not a ceiling. Pull the same measures for your own Facebook and Instagram profiles and set them against the September 2026 figures above:
On Instagram, keep the carousel-heavy mix but give Reels their share, since the two perform almost equally. On Facebook, photos dominate output yet earn the least, so shift some of that volume to Reels and Live Video.
This report is produced quarterly from Emplifi’s proprietary social media dataset, drawn from the platform used by more than 22,000 brands worldwide.
Data collection: Data is pulled once per quarter and reflects the state of Emplifi’s database at the start of the quarter following the period analyzed. It is not updated between releases.
Sample: 1,824 Facebook brand pages and 1,162 Instagram brand profiles in the fashion category in Asia Pacific, July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Reporting period: Monthly metrics are reported for September 2026, the final month of the quarter, and trend commentary covers July 2025 through September 2026. The ads trend series also covers July 2025 through September 2026.
Minimum thresholds: Reports require a minimum of 50 Instagram profiles and 50 Facebook pages for a given region and industry combination. Interaction distribution data requires a minimum of 300 profiles. Ad benchmarks require a minimum of 200 active ad accounts from the region or industry.
All costs are in USD. All figures are medians unless otherwise noted; UGC uplifts are averages. Data is first normalized at the profile or page level before aggregation.
