Worldwide Social Media Benchmarks: Electronics Retailers Q2 2026

Emplifi Team Social Media Marketing Experts

What’s in this report

In Q2 2026, Electronics Retailers brands worldwide saw Instagram post interactions run well ahead of Facebook, with Instagram median post interactions holding near 19 versus roughly 6.5 on Facebook. Facebook Live Video remained the standout organic format, and the industry’s own interaction share held steady at 11.5% of Facebook brand interactions and 6.4% on Instagram. On the paid side, the Facebook feed stayed the cheapest and highest-CTR placement, while Facebook Reels held on as the runner-up across cost and click-through metrics.

This quarterly benchmarks report pulls from Emplifi’s dataset of 1,117 Facebook pages and 429 Instagram profiles across Worldwide, covering April 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026.

Platform landscape at a glance

In Worldwide, Instagram brand profiles carry a higher median follower count than Facebook pages. The figures below reflect median values across all profiles in the sample at the end of Q2 2026.

Metric Instagram Facebook
Median followers / fans Lower Higher
Median posts published (quarter) Higher Lower
Median total interactions (quarter) Higher Lower

Activity volume on both platforms is higher on Instagram, while user engagement on Instagram outpaces Facebook.

Median post interactions

Median post interactions track the middle-ranked page or profile by monthly interactions — a measure of typical performance rather than outlier peaks.

Platform Q2 2026 median post interactions
Instagram 19
Facebook 6.5

Instagram median post interactions held in a fairly narrow band between roughly 17 and 21 across the past year, dipping slightly in early 2026 before settling near 19 by June. Facebook stayed comparatively flat in the 6-8 range throughout the period, ending closer to the lower end of that band this quarter.

Relative median post interactions

Relative median interactions index each platform’s performance against its own peak over the reporting period, making it easier to compare directional trends across platforms regardless of absolute scale.

By June 2026, Facebook’s relative median interactions had fallen to around 75% of its peak — its lowest point in the period, after holding near 100% through late 2025 — while Instagram climbed back to roughly 90% of its own peak after dipping earlier in the quarter.

Median post impressions

Impressions measure how many times posts were displayed, regardless of interaction. This metric is available for both platforms and reflects reach rather than engagement.

Electronics Retailers’ Q2 2026 deck doesn’t break out a separate impressions trend line for this industry. Directionally, the Social Media Landscape view for this quarter shows Instagram carrying higher activity volume than Facebook, which typically corresponds to a wider organic reach footprint on Instagram as well.

Engagement rate trends

Emplifi’s Q2 2026 data for Electronics Retailers doesn’t isolate a separate quarterly engagement-rate percentage by platform. Qualitatively, the Social Media Landscape verdict for this industry is clear: user engagement on Instagram outpaces Facebook, consistent with what we see across nearly every industry this quarter.

Best-performing post types

Facebook: Live Video and standard Video continue to outperform other formats organically. In Q2 2026, Live Video generated a median of 36 post interactions, while standard Video reached 4.

Instagram: Carousel and Reel posts lead organic performance. Carousels generated a median of 19 post interactions this quarter; Reels reached 25.

Frequently asked questions

Instagram. Across 30 industries, Instagram posts got higher user engagement than Facebook posts — with no exceptions. Instagram also led on activity volume (post frequency) in most verticals, and ran neck-and-neck with Facebook in the rest. If you’re deciding where to focus organic effort this quarter, Instagram is the stronger channel almost everywhere.

Reels and carousels. In nearly every industry we benchmarked, these two formats drove the highest median post interactions, often by a wide margin over photos and stories. Which one wins first place varies by industry, but the reel-carousel pairing is the consistent pattern.

The Facebook feed. It had the lowest cost per click worldwide, with Facebook Reels close behind as the second-cheapest placement. Instagram Stories was the lowest-CPC Instagram placement, but still came in behind both Facebook options.

E-commerce, by a wide margin — accounting for 37.4% of all brand-profile interactions on Instagram and 27.5% on Facebook. Retail and services follow as the next-largest categories on both platforms, with fashion also ranking high on Instagram specifically.

Brands using UGC saw a 19.88x increase in conversion rate, a 5.06x increase in website visits, and a 1.08x increase in average order value, compared to brands that don’t (Emplifi Brands UGC benchmark, Q2 2026). Conversion rate is where UGC makes the biggest difference.
