Middle East Markets Social Media Benchmarks: Entertainment Q2 2026

Emplifi Team Social Media Marketing Experts

What’s in this report

In Q2 2026, Entertainment brands in Middle East Markets saw median post engagement rates on Instagram of around 2.7%, while Facebook trailed at under 1%. Retail led interaction share across both platforms regionally (Entertainment itself falls outside the top categories), and Carousel and Reel remained the top-performing organic formats on Instagram, while Live Video led on Facebook.

This quarterly benchmarks report pulls from Emplifi’s dataset of 183 Facebook pages and 337 Instagram profiles across Middle East Markets, covering April 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026.

User-generated content: what’s achievable

Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution this quarter saw:

  • 18.95x increase in conversion rate
  • 4.97x increase in website visits
  • 1.08x increase in average order value

These figures represent the median uplift seen across Emplifi’s Brands UGC Accounts Benchmark for Q2 2026. (Note: this deck’s UGC slide was captioned “Global UGC Accounts Benchmark” rather than an Entertainment-specific slide, so these are the global benchmark figures reported for this file rather than an Entertainment-only breakout.)

Platform landscape at a glance

In Middle East Markets, Instagram brand profiles carry a higher median follower count than Facebook pages. The source chart for this comparison (a bubble/circle chart) does not publish exact figures — only relative sizing — so the table below uses directional comparisons rather than invented numbers.

Metric Instagram Facebook
Median followers / fans Higher (exact figure not published in source chart) Lower (exact figure not published in source chart)
Median posts published (quarter) Lower Higher
Median total interactions (quarter) Higher Lower

Activity volume on both platforms is higher on Facebook, while user engagement on Instagram outpaces Facebook.

Median post interactions

Median post interactions track the middle-ranked page or profile by monthly interactions — a measure of typical performance rather than outlier peaks.

Platform Q2 2026 median post interactions
Instagram ~163
Facebook ~7

Instagram median post interactions dipped to a low of around 129 in November 2025 before recovering, ending Q2 2026 at approximately 163. Facebook held consistently low and flat across the full period, never exceeding roughly 8 interactions.

Relative median post interactions

Relative median interactions index each platform’s performance against its own peak over the reporting period, making it easier to compare directional trends across platforms regardless of absolute scale.

By Q2 2026, Facebook’s relative median interactions had dropped to around 72% of its peak after touching 100% in May 2026, while Instagram ended the period at around 88% of its own peak.

Median post impressions

Impressions measure how many times posts were displayed, regardless of interaction. This metric is available for both platforms and reflects reach rather than engagement.

Platform Q2 2026 median post impressions
Instagram ~4,500
Facebook ~2,600

Instagram impressions peaked at around 9,500 in September 2025 before declining and stabilizing in the 4,000–5,000 range for most of 2026. Facebook impressions trended gradually downward from around 4,500 in mid-2025 to roughly 2,600 by Q2 2026.

Median post engagement rates this quarter:

  • Instagram: ~2.7%
  • Facebook: ~0.9%

Instagram engagement has held broadly steady across the past year, fluctuating between roughly 2.3% and 3.2%, while Facebook engagement has stayed consistently low, moving in a narrow band between about 0.6% and 0.9%.

Best-performing post types

Facebook: Live Video and standard Video continue to outperform other formats organically. In Q2 2026, Live Video generated a median of 102 post interactions, while standard Video reached roughly 1.

Instagram: Carousel and Reel posts lead organic performance. Carousels generated a median of 297 post interactions this quarter; Reels reached 251.

Full organic post type performance (Q2 2026):

Live Video Facebook 102
Video Facebook ~1
Photo Facebook ~5
Reel Facebook ~5
Status Facebook 9
Link Facebook ~4
Carousel Instagram 297
Reel Instagram 251

Post type distribution trends:

On Facebook, Photo remains a leading post format at around 44% of posts, though Reels have grown steadily — rising from near zero in mid-2025 to approximately 48% by Q2 2026, effectively overtaking Photo by quarter end. On Instagram, Reels, Images, and Carousels each account for roughly a third of posts published, with Reels and Carousels driving the majority of top-performing content.

How to use these benchmarks

These figures represent median performance across thousands of brand profiles in Emplifi’s dataset — they’re a useful calibration point, not a ceiling. If your Instagram engagement rate is sitting above 2.7%, you’re already ahead of the median for Middle East Markets Entertainment brands; below it, there are likely content-mix improvements worth testing, particularly around Reels and Carousels.

Methodology

This report is produced quarterly using Emplifi’s proprietary social media dataset — one of the largest in the industry, drawn from the platform used by more than 20,000 brands worldwide.

Data collection: Data is pulled once per quarter and reflects the state of Emplifi’s database at the start of the quarter following the period analyzed. It is not updated between releases.

Sample: 183 Facebook brand pages and 337 Instagram brand profiles in Middle East Markets, April 1, 2026–June 30, 2026.

Minimum thresholds: Reports require a minimum of 50 Instagram profiles and 50 Facebook pages for a given region and industry combination. Interaction distribution data requires a minimum of 300 profiles. Ad benchmarks require a minimum of 200 active ad accounts from the region or industry.

Key definitions

  • Interactions (Facebook): Sum of all reactions (Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sorry, Anger), comments, and shares on brand-published posts. Care reactions are counted under Likes.
  • Interactions (Instagram): Sum of likes and comments on brand-published posts.
  • Median post interactions: The middle-ranked page or profile when sorted by monthly post interactions. Represents typical performance, not average — so outliers don’t skew the figure.
  • Relative median interactions: Median interactions indexed to the maximum value in the reporting period for each platform, expressed as a percentage. Useful for comparing directional trends across platforms at different absolute scales.
  • Impressions: The number of times a post was displayed, regardless of whether it was interacted with. Reflects reach rather than engagement.
  • Engagement rate: Interactions divided by follower/fan count, expressed as a percentage.
  • Organic: Posts not paid to be promoted, detected using Emplifi’s internal algorithm with near-100% accuracy.
  • CPC / CPM: Median cost per click and cost per thousand impressions across all available ad accounts, shown for the top 5 placements by relative spend.
  • Relative spend: Normalized distribution (%) showing the average share of an account’s budget allocated to each placement.
  • CTR: Median click-through rate for the top 5 placements by relative spend.

All costs are in USD. All figures are medians unless otherwise noted. Data is first normalized at the profile/page level before aggregation.

Frequently asked questions

Instagram. Across 30 industries, Instagram posts got higher user engagement than Facebook posts — with no exceptions. Instagram also led on activity volume (post frequency) in most verticals, and ran neck-and-neck with Facebook in the rest. If you’re deciding where to focus organic effort this quarter, Instagram is the stronger channel almost everywhere.

Reels and carousels. In nearly every industry we benchmarked, these two formats drove the highest median post interactions, often by a wide margin over photos and stories. Which one wins first place varies by industry, but the reel-carousel pairing is the consistent pattern.

The Facebook feed. It had the lowest cost per click worldwide, with Facebook Reels close behind as the second-cheapest placement. Instagram Stories was the lowest-CPC Instagram placement, but still came in behind both Facebook options.

E-commerce, by a wide margin — accounting for 37.4% of all brand-profile interactions on Instagram and 27.5% on Facebook. Retail and services follow as the next-largest categories on both platforms, with fashion also ranking high on Instagram specifically.

Brands using UGC saw a 19.88x increase in conversion rate, a 5.06x increase in website visits, and a 1.08x increase in average order value, compared to brands that don’t (Emplifi Brands UGC benchmark, Q2 2026). Conversion rate is where UGC makes the biggest difference.
