Asia Pacific accommodation social media benchmarks for Q3 2026 show Instagram earning more per post while Facebook holds the bigger audiences: the median accommodation brand in Asia Pacific earned 25 interactions per Instagram post in September, against seven on Facebook. Median engagement reached up to 1.78% on Instagram and up to 0.65% on Facebook across the quarter. Reels led organic results on Instagram, and Live Video, a format brands rarely use, led on Facebook, with links in second place.
This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 2,012 Facebook pages and 1,070 Instagram profiles in the Asia Pacific accommodation category, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution saw these average uplifts in Q3 2026:
The figures come from Emplifi’s Worldwide Brands UGC benchmark, averaged across 68 to 83 accounts per metric. That benchmark covers brands in every category and region worldwide, so it is not specific to accommodation brands in Asia Pacific.

Instagram has moved within a narrow band. It peaked at 27 in August 2025, bottomed at 22 in May 2026 and recovered to 25 to 26 through Q3. Facebook drifted down steadily, from 10 in July and August 2025 to seven in September 2026, the lowest point of the 15 months.
Indexing each platform to its own 15-month peak makes the two easier to compare despite their different scales.
Instagram finished September 2026 at 93% of its August 2025 high. Facebook ended at 70% of its peak, the furthest either platform fell below its best month in the period.
Impressions count how often posts were displayed, whether or not anyone interacted. They measure visibility, not engagement.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post impressions |
|---|---|
| 1,716 | |
| 1,877 |
Facebook posts out-reached Instagram posts in September, an unusual result. Instagram impressions peaked at 5,261 in August 2025, more than halved between October 2025 and January 2026, and have stayed between roughly 1,700 and 2,100 since. Facebook impressions stayed between about 2,400 and 3,300 for 14 months, then dropped from 3,055 in July 2026 to 1,877 in September. The decline is not specific to accommodation: median Facebook impressions for all brands in Asia Pacific fell from 3,431 in July 2025 to 1,669 in September 2026.
Median post engagement rates this quarter:
Across the quarter’s three months, Instagram’s median ranged from 1.54% to 1.78% and Facebook’s from 0.51% to 0.65%. Instagram’s rate has roughly tripled since its low of 0.59% in October 2025, with the biggest step between November 2025 and January 2026, and September 2026 was its highest month. Facebook peaked at 0.78% in September 2025, slid to 0.51% in July 2026 and recovered in September.
From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.
Facebook: Live Video drew a median of 33.5 interactions, more than three times any other format, but it made up only 0.15% of accommodation brands’ Facebook posts in September. Links came second, ahead of Reels, while photos and status updates trailed.
Instagram: Reels led and carousels came a close second. Single images earned about 60% of a Reel’s interactions.
