What’s in this report

Middle East Markets auto social media benchmarks for Q3 2026 show Instagram earning more than four times as much per post as Facebook: the median auto brand in Middle East Markets earned 23 interactions per Instagram post in September, against five on Facebook. Reels led on Instagram, while Facebook interactions halved from their July 2025 level. Engagement rates for this category are reported from Emplifi’s Asia auto data, where they reached up to 1.78% on Instagram and up to 0.85% on Facebook.

This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 229 Facebook pages and 217 Instagram profiles in the Middle East Markets auto category, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.

User-generated content: what’s achievable

Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution saw these average uplifts in Q3 2026:

  • 11.49x conversion rate
  • 4.84x repeat website visits
  • 1.03x average order value

The figures come from Emplifi’s Worldwide Brands UGC benchmark, averaged across 68 to 83 accounts per metric. That benchmark covers brands in every category and region worldwide, so it is not specific to auto brands in Middle East Markets.

Organic performance: Facebook and Instagram

Interaction share by industry

Two categories hold nearly all brand interactions on Facebook in Middle East Markets: industrial brands take 48.4% from 13.8% of posts, and airlines 42.0% from 18.1%. Airlines also lead Instagram with 36.3% of interactions, about three times services in second place.

Facebook interaction distribution (Q3 2026):

Category Share of total interactions
Industrial 48.4%
Airlines 42.0%
Telecom 5.1%
Services 1.4%
Finance 0.7%
Others 2.4%

Instagram interaction distribution (Q3 2026):

Category Share of total interactions
Airlines 36.3%
Services 12.4%
Retail 2.8%
Finance 2.4%
Ecommerce 1.8%
Others 44.3%

The categories listed are those with the most brand posts in the region, ranked by their share of interactions. Others combines every remaining category, auto included.

Platform landscape at a glance

Auto brands in Middle East Markets have bigger audiences on Facebook, where the median page has about 55% more fans than the median Instagram profile. They post at the same pace on both, and Instagram collects four times the interactions over the quarter.

Metric Instagram Facebook
Median followers / fans 31,058 48,264
Median posts published (quarter) 42 40
Median total interactions (quarter) 1,624 406

Median post interactions

This metric follows the middle-ranked page or profile each month, so a handful of viral accounts can’t inflate it.

Platform Q3 2026 median post interactions
Instagram 23
Facebook 5

Instagram has been fairly stable. It peaked at 27 in August 2025, dipped to 19 in March 2026 and spent Q3 at 23 to 24. Facebook fell from 10 in July 2025 to five, first in February 2026 and again in September.

Relative median post interactions

Indexing each platform to its own 15-month peak makes the two easier to compare despite their different scales.

Instagram ended September 2026 at 85% of its August 2025 high. Facebook finished at 50% of its July 2025 peak, the lowest point of the period for either platform.

Median post impressions

Impressions count how often posts were displayed, whether or not anyone interacted. They measure visibility, not engagement.

Emplifi’s dataset has too few Middle East Markets auto profiles with impression data this quarter, so the impressions below are the Asia auto medians.

Platform Q3 2026 median post impressions (Asia auto)
Instagram 2,797
Facebook 1,816

In that Asia series, Instagram impressions are about a third of their August 2025 peak of 7,875 and have held between roughly 2,500 and 3,000 since February 2026. Facebook impressions also peaked in August 2025, at 4,860, and dropped from 3,360 in July 2026 to 1,816 in September, the lowest month of the period.

Engagement rate trends

Emplifi’s dataset has too few Middle East Markets auto profiles with impression data this quarter, so the engagement rates below are the Asia auto medians.

Median post engagement rates this quarter (Asia auto):

  • Instagram: up to 1.78%
  • Facebook: up to 0.85%

Across the quarter’s three months, the Instagram median in that series ranged from 1.50% to 1.78% and Facebook’s from 0.75% to 0.85%. The Instagram rate has more than doubled from its low of 0.81% in August 2025 and reached its 15-month high in September 2026. Facebook peaked at 1.03% in October 2025.

From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.

Best-performing post types

Facebook: Links show a median of 602 interactions per post, but they made up just 0.05% of posts in September, so that figure rests on very few posts. Live Video earned 117 and status updates 21. Reels (five) and photos (three), which together make up almost all posts, earned the least.

Instagram: Reels led at 37.5 interactions, carousels followed at 27 and single images at 16.

Full organic post type performance (Q3 2026):

Post type Platform Median post interactions
Link Facebook 602
Live Video Facebook 117
Status Facebook 21
Reel Facebook 5
Photo Facebook 3
Reel Instagram 37.5
Carousel Instagram 27
Image Instagram 16

Post type distribution trends:

Reels nearly doubled their share of Facebook posts, from 20.2% in July 2025 to 38.9% in September 2026, while photos fell from 73.7% to 59.6%. On Instagram, Reels, the best-performing format, reached 40.0% of posts, their highest share of the period. Single images fell to 28.8%, their lowest, and carousels held at 31.2%.

Paid performance: Facebook and Instagram ads

The placement figures below come from Emplifi’s auto ad accounts benchmark, which pools auto ad accounts across all regions.

Where brands are spending

Facebook feed takes a third of the average auto ad budget, 18.8 percentage points more than Facebook Reels in second place. Facebook Reels, Instagram feed and Instagram Reels are almost level at 14% to 15% each, and Instagram Stories takes 7.7%.

CPC and CPM by placement

The most cost-efficient placements this quarter:

  • Lowest CPC: Facebook feed, Facebook Reels and Instagram Reels
  • Lowest CPM: Facebook feed, Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels

Instagram Reels is the most cost-efficient Instagram placement, with the lowest Instagram CPM ($4.59) and CPC ($1.01). Facebook feed still delivers clicks at under a third of that price.

Spend, CPC and CPM by placement (Q3 2026):

Placement Share of spend (%) CPC (USD) CPM (USD)
Facebook feed 33.73 0.30 4.47
Facebook Reels 14.91 0.52 4.72
Instagram feed 14.42 1.03 5.69
Instagram Reels 13.97 1.01 4.59
Instagram Stories 7.74 1.34 6.07

Click-through rate by placement

Facebook feed leads at 1.82%, followed by Facebook Reels at 1.20%. The Instagram placements are tightly grouped between 0.74% and 0.77%.

CTR by placement (Q3 2026):

Placement CTR (%)
Facebook feed 1.82
Facebook Reels 1.20
Instagram Stories 0.77
Instagram Reels 0.75
Instagram feed 0.74

Cost trends over time

The monthly trend files carry no Middle East Markets series of their own, so this section compares the auto benchmark with Emplifi’s brands benchmark, which pools brand ad accounts worldwide. September 2026 values, with the quarter’s monthly range:

Metric Auto benchmark (all regions) Brands benchmark (worldwide)
CPM (USD) 3.21 (2.72 to 3.21) 2.09 (1.83 to 2.09)
CTR (%) 1.24 (1.12 to 1.24) 1.13 (1.06 to 1.13)

Auto CPM climbed from $1.93 in July 2025 to a peak of $3.44 in November 2025, dropped to $2.08 in January 2026 and rose to $3.21 by September, about 50% above the brands benchmark. Auto CTR moved from a low of 0.82% in December 2025 to 1.24% in September 2026, its 15-month high and above the brands benchmark’s 1.13%. No monthly CPC series is available.

How to use these benchmarks

Treat these medians as a calibration point for auto brands in Middle East Markets, not a ceiling. Pull the same measures for your own Facebook and Instagram profiles and set them against the September 2026 figures above:

  • Median post interactions
  • Median post impressions
  • Median engagement rate
  • Post type mix

On Instagram, Reels earn the most and their share is growing, so keep them at the center. On Facebook, Reels and photos both earn little for the median brand, which makes status updates and the occasional Live Video worth testing.

Methodology

This report is produced quarterly from Emplifi’s proprietary social media dataset, drawn from the platform used by more than 22,000 brands worldwide.

Data collection: Data is pulled once per quarter and reflects the state of Emplifi’s database at the start of the quarter following the period analyzed. It is not updated between releases.

Sample: 229 Facebook brand pages and 217 Instagram brand profiles in the Middle East Markets auto category, July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.

Reporting period: Monthly metrics are reported for September 2026, the final month of the quarter, and trend commentary covers July 2025 through September 2026. The ads trend series also covers July 2025 through September 2026.

Minimum thresholds: Reports require a minimum of 50 Instagram profiles and 50 Facebook pages for a given region and industry combination. Interaction distribution data requires a minimum of 300 profiles. Ad benchmarks require a minimum of 200 active ad accounts from the region or industry.

Key definitions

  • Interactions (Facebook): Sum of all reactions (Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sorry, Anger), comments and shares on brand-published posts. Care reactions are counted under Likes.
  • Interactions (Instagram): Sum of likes, comments, saves, shares and reposts on brand-published posts. Saves, shares and reposts are counted from Q3 2026.
  • Median post interactions: The middle-ranked page or profile when sorted by monthly post interactions. It represents typical performance rather than an average, so outliers don’t skew the figure.
  • Relative median interactions: Median interactions indexed to the maximum value in the reporting period for each platform, expressed as a percentage. Useful for comparing direction across platforms at different absolute scales.
  • Impressions: The number of times a post was displayed, whether or not anyone interacted with it. Reflects visibility rather than engagement.
  • Engagement rate: Interactions divided by impressions, expressed as a percentage. From Q3 2026 the rate is based on impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data, so it is not comparable with earlier quarters.
  • Organic: Posts not paid to be promoted, detected using Emplifi’s internal algorithm with near-100% accuracy.
  • CPC / CPM: Median cost per click and cost per thousand impressions across all available ad accounts, shown for the top five placements by relative spend.
  • Relative spend: Normalized distribution (%) showing the average share of an account’s budget allocated to each placement.
  • CTR: Median click-through rate for the top five placements by relative spend.

All costs are in USD. All figures are medians unless otherwise noted; UGC uplifts are averages. Data is first normalized at the profile or page level before aggregation.
