Middle East beverages social media benchmarks for Q3 2026 show carousels as the standout format: they earned a median of 147 interactions per Instagram post, about four times any other format. The median beverage brand’s Instagram post earned 29.5 interactions in September, against eight on Facebook, and Red Bull’s Gulf profiles filled all three top Instagram spots.
This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 81 Facebook pages and 83 Instagram profiles in the beverages category in the Middle East, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution saw these average uplifts in Q3 2026:
These are averages from Emplifi’s Worldwide Brands UGC benchmark, across 68 to 83 accounts per metric. The benchmark pools brands from every category and region, so the uplifts are not specific to beverage brands in the Middle East.
Facebook interactions in the Middle East are concentrated in two categories: industrial brands and airlines together take almost 90%. Instagram is more balanced, led by airlines at 36.3% and services at 12.3%. Beverages accounts for less than 1% of brand posts on both platforms, but on Instagram its 0.3% of posts draws 0.7% of interactions, more than its share.
Facebook interaction distribution (Q3 2026):
| Category | Share of total interactions |
|---|---|
| Industrial | 47.8% |
| Airlines | 41.6% |
| Telecom | 5.2% |
| Services | 1.5% |
| Finance | 0.7% |
| Others | 3.2% |

| Services | 12.3% |
| Auto | 3.9% |
| Retail | 2.8% |
| Finance | 2.4% |
| Others | 42.3% |
The categories listed are those with the most brand posts in the Middle East. Others combines every remaining category, beverages included.
Facebook pages have the larger audiences here, about 73% more fans than Instagram profiles have followers, and both platforms see similar posting volumes. Instagram still collects about six and a half times the interactions.

Instagram has recovered strongly. After falling to 18.5 in March 2026, the median rose to 33 in July, the highest of the 15 months, and finished September at 29.5. Facebook held at eight in all three months of the quarter, after swinging between seven and 12.5 earlier in the period.
Instagram ended September 2026 at 89% of its July peak, up from 56% in March. Facebook finished at 64% of its August 2025 high.
Impressions count how often posts were displayed, whether or not anyone engaged. Emplifi’s dataset has too few Middle East beverages profiles with impression data this quarter, so the impressions below are the Worldwide beverages medians.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post impressions |
|---|---|
| 1,190 | |
| 756 |
On that worldwide series, Facebook impressions dropped from 3,997 in July 2025 to 756 in September 2026, and Instagram impressions from 2,841 in August 2025 to 1,190. September was the lowest month of the period on both platforms.
Median post engagement rates this quarter (Worldwide beverages medians):
These are also the Worldwide beverages medians, so they are not one sample with the Middle East interaction figures. Across Q3, Instagram’s median ranged from 2.12% to 2.21% and Facebook’s from 0.63% to 0.91%. Instagram’s rate roughly doubled from a low of 1.14% in August 2025 to a peak of 2.32% in June 2026, and Facebook’s August 2026 figure was its highest of the 15 months.
From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.
Facebook: Status updates earned a median of eight interactions, photos seven and Reels six. The export has no Live Video or link rows for this group.
Instagram: Carousels earned a median of 147 interactions, about four times single images and five times Reels.

This report is produced quarterly from Emplifi’s proprietary social media dataset, drawn from the platform used by more than 22,000 brands worldwide.
Data collection: Data is pulled once per quarter and reflects the state of Emplifi’s database at the start of the quarter following the period analyzed. It is not updated between releases.
Sample: 81 Facebook brand pages and 83 Instagram brand profiles in the beverages category in the Middle East, July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Reporting period: Monthly metrics are reported for September 2026, the final month of the quarter, and trend commentary covers July 2025 through September 2026. The ads trend series also covers July 2025 through September 2026.
Minimum thresholds: Reports require a minimum of 50 Instagram profiles and 50 Facebook pages for a given region and industry combination. Interaction distribution data requires a minimum of 300 profiles. Ad benchmarks require a minimum of 200 active ad accounts from the region or industry.
All costs are in USD. All figures are medians unless otherwise noted; UGC uplifts are averages. Data is first normalized at the profile or page level before aggregation.
Carousels, by a wide margin: a median of 147 interactions per post in Q3 2026, against 36 for single images and 29 for Reels. Carousels made up just 11.6% of beverage brands’ Instagram posts in September 2026.
About 29.5 on Instagram and eight on Facebook, the September 2026 medians. The Facebook median held at eight in every month of Q3, while Instagram ranged from 29.5 to 33.
They are now a large part of the mix, at 39.5% of beverage brands’ Facebook posts in September 2026, but they earned a median of six interactions in Q3, slightly behind photos at seven and status updates at eight.
Emplifi’s dataset has too few Middle East beverages profiles with impression data this quarter, so the engagement rate and impressions sections use the Worldwide beverages medians. On that series, Instagram engagement reached up to 2.21% in Q3 2026. A free social media assessment measures your own rate directly.
Facebook feed and Instagram Reels, at 22.2% and 22.1% of spend in Q3 2026. Facebook feed was the better buy for clicks, with a CPC of $0.20 and a CTR of 1.16%. These figures come from Emplifi’s Middle East ad accounts benchmark, because beverages has no ad benchmark of its own this quarter.
