What’s in this report

Middle East Markets beverages social media benchmarks for Q3 2026 show Instagram earning the stronger response: the median beverage brand’s Instagram post drew 22 interactions in September, against six on Facebook, the lowest Facebook level of the 15 months. Carousels earned more than twice the interactions of any other Instagram format, and Instagram Reels took the largest share of ad budgets in the region.

This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 63 Facebook pages and 67 Instagram profiles in the beverages category in Middle East Markets, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.

User-generated content: what’s achievable

Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution saw these average uplifts in Q3 2026:

  • 11.49x conversion rate
  • 4.84x repeat website visits
  • 1.03x average order value

These are averages from Emplifi’s Worldwide Brands UGC benchmark, across 68 to 83 accounts per metric. The benchmark pools brands from every category and region, so the uplifts are not specific to beverage brands in Middle East Markets.

Organic performance: Facebook and Instagram

Interaction share by industry

On Facebook, industrial brands (48.4%) and airlines (42.0%) between them collect about nine in 10 brand interactions in Middle East Markets. Instagram interactions are more widely shared, with airlines on 36.3% and Others on 42.2%. Beverages is a small category, at 0.8% of Facebook brand posts and 0.3% of Instagram brand posts, though on Instagram it earns 0.7% of interactions.

Facebook interaction distribution (Q3 2026):

Category Share of total interactions
Industrial 48.4%
Airlines 42.0%
Telecom 5.1%
Services 1.4%
Finance 0.7%
Others 2.4%

Instagram interaction distribution (Q3 2026):

Category Share of total interactions
Airlines 36.3%
Services 12.4%
Auto 3.9%
Retail 2.8%
Finance 2.4%
Others 42.2%

The categories listed are those with the most brand posts in Middle East Markets. Others combines every remaining category, beverages included.

Platform landscape at a glance

The median Facebook page has about a third more fans than the median Instagram profile has followers, and posting volumes are close. The quarter’s interactions tell a different story: about 1,100 on Instagram against 186 on Facebook.

Metric Instagram Facebook
Median followers / fans 29,141 38,979
Median posts published (quarter) 27 24
Median total interactions (quarter) 1,107 186

Median post interactions

This is the middle-ranked brand each month, so a few viral posts can’t move it much.

Platform Q3 2026 median post interactions
Instagram 22
Facebook 6

Instagram rose from a low of 18.5 in March 2026 to a high of 29.5 in June, then eased through Q3 from 28 in July to 22 in September. Facebook has drifted down from a peak of 11 in August 2025 to six in September 2026, its lowest month.

Relative median post interactions

Instagram finished September 2026 at 75% of its June peak. Facebook ended at 55% of its August 2025 high, the lowest point of the period for either platform.

Median post impressions

Impressions show how many times posts were displayed, whether or not anyone engaged. Emplifi’s dataset has too few Middle East Markets beverages profiles with impression data this quarter, so the impressions below are the Worldwide beverages medians.

Platform Q3 2026 median post impressions
Instagram 1,190
Facebook 756

The worldwide beverages series fell on both platforms. Facebook impressions dropped by more than 80% from their July 2025 peak of 3,997, and Instagram impressions fell from 2,841 in August 2025 to 1,190 in September 2026, both the lowest months of the period.

Engagement rate trends

Median post engagement rates this quarter (Worldwide beverages medians):

  • Instagram: up to 2.21%
  • Facebook: up to 0.91%

These rates are the Worldwide beverages medians too, so read them separately from the Middle East Markets interaction figures. Instagram’s median stayed between 2.12% and 2.21% across Q3, and Facebook’s ranged from 0.63% to 0.91%. On this series, Instagram has been above 2% every month since February 2026.

From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.

Best-performing post types

Facebook: Reels and status updates tied at a median of eight interactions, and photos earned six. There are no Live Video or link rows for this group in the export.

Methodology

This report is produced quarterly from Emplifi’s proprietary social media dataset, drawn from the platform used by more than 22,000 brands worldwide.

Data collection: Data is pulled once per quarter and reflects the state of Emplifi’s database at the start of the quarter following the period analyzed. It is not updated between releases.

Sample: 63 Facebook brand pages and 67 Instagram brand profiles in the beverages category in Middle East Markets, July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.

Reporting period: Monthly metrics are reported for September 2026, the final month of the quarter, and trend commentary covers July 2025 through September 2026. The ads trend series also covers July 2025 through September 2026.

Minimum thresholds: Reports require a minimum of 50 Instagram profiles and 50 Facebook pages for a given region and industry combination. Interaction distribution data requires a minimum of 300 profiles. Ad benchmarks require a minimum of 200 active ad accounts from the region or industry.

Key definitions

  • Interactions (Facebook): Sum of all reactions (Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sorry, Anger), comments and shares on brand-published posts. Care reactions are counted under Likes.
  • Interactions (Instagram): Sum of likes, comments, saves, shares and reposts on brand-published posts. Saves, shares and reposts are counted from Q3 2026.
  • Median post interactions: The middle-ranked page or profile when sorted by monthly post interactions. It represents typical performance rather than an average, so outliers don’t skew the figure.
  • Relative median interactions: Median interactions indexed to the maximum value in the reporting period for each platform, expressed as a percentage. Useful for comparing direction across platforms at different absolute scales.
  • Impressions: The number of times a post was displayed, whether or not anyone interacted with it. Reflects visibility rather than engagement.
  • Engagement rate: Interactions divided by impressions, expressed as a percentage. From Q3 2026 the rate is based on impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data, so it is not comparable with earlier quarters.
  • Organic: Posts not paid to be promoted, detected using Emplifi’s internal algorithm with near-100% accuracy.
  • CPC / CPM: Median cost per click and cost per thousand impressions across all available ad accounts, shown for the top five placements by relative spend.
  • Relative spend: Normalized distribution (%) showing the average share of an account’s budget allocated to each placement.
  • CTR: Median click-through rate for the top five placements by relative spend.

All costs are in USD. All figures are medians unless otherwise noted; UGC uplifts are averages. Data is first normalized at the profile or page level before aggregation.
