Asia Pacific entertainment social media benchmarks for Q3 2026 put Instagram far in front: the median entertainment brand’s Instagram post earned 597.5 interactions in September, about 17 times the 35 it earned on Facebook. Reels and carousels finished almost level on Instagram, Live Video led on Facebook, and one brand, LINE MAN, posted five of the quarter’s six most-interacted posts.
This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 2,183 Facebook pages and 1,420 Instagram profiles of entertainment brands in Asia Pacific, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution saw these average uplifts in Q3 2026:
These figures are averages from Emplifi’s Worldwide Brands UGC benchmark, based on 68 to 83 accounts per metric. The benchmark includes brands in every category worldwide, so it is not specific to entertainment or to Asia Pacific.
Entertainment brands in Asia Pacific run large accounts on both platforms. The median Instagram profile has about 323,000 followers and the median Facebook page about 262,000 fans. Facebook pages post more, 60 times in the quarter against 38 on Instagram, yet Instagram collects almost nine times the interactions.
| Metric | ||
|---|---|---|
| Median followers / fans | 322,608 | 262,015 |
| Median posts published (quarter) | 38 | 60 |
| Median total interactions (quarter) | 92,700 | 10,462 |
This metric follows the middle-ranked page or profile each month, so a handful of viral accounts can’t inflate it.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post interactions |

| 597.5 | |
| 35 |
Instagram has held a high, steady level: between 574 and 734 interactions per post across the 15 months, with the peak in April 2026 and Q3 at 640, 648 and 597.5. Facebook drifted down from a peak of 49 in January 2026 to 35 in September, its lowest month of the period.
Indexing each platform to its own 15-month peak makes the two easier to compare despite their different scales.
Instagram finished September 2026 at 81% of its April 2026 high and never dropped below 78% in the period. Facebook ended at 71% of its January 2026 peak, the lowest reading for either platform.
Impressions count how often posts were displayed, whether or not anyone interacted. They measure visibility, not engagement.
Emplifi’s dataset has too few entertainment profiles in Asia Pacific with impression data this quarter, so the impressions below are the Worldwide entertainment medians.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post impressions |
|---|---|
| 17,677 | |
| 3,691 |
Worldwide entertainment impressions on Instagram dipped to 11,338 in February 2026 and recovered to between 17,488 and 17,687 in Q3, close to their September 2025 high of 17,733. Facebook impressions fell from 6,880 in December 2025 to about 3,691 in September 2026, the lowest point of the 15 months. That decline is broad: median Facebook impressions for brands worldwide fell from about 1,500 in July 2025 to 779 in September 2026.
The engagement rates below come from the same Worldwide entertainment series, for the same reason, so they are not the Asia Pacific median.
Median post engagement rates this quarter:
Across the quarter’s three months, the Instagram median ranged from 2.12% to 2.24% and the Facebook median from 0.68% to 0.73%. Instagram’s September rate is the highest of the 15 months, up from 1.58% in September and October 2025. Facebook barely moved, staying between 0.68% and 0.77% throughout.
From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.
Facebook: Live Video earned a median of 80 interactions per post, more than double any other format, and made up 1.5% of entertainment brands’ Facebook posts in September. Status updates and Reels were close behind each other at 35 and 34, well ahead of photos and links.
Instagram: Reels and carousels were almost tied, at 912.5 and 889 median interactions, and both earned more than four times as much as a single image.
Full organic post type performance (Q3 2026):

The ad trend files have no entertainment series, so the table shows the Asia Pacific overall benchmark, which covers ad accounts in every industry in the region, beside Emplifi’s all-brands benchmark, which pools brand ad accounts across all regions. Figures are for September 2026, with the quarter’s monthly range:
| Metric | Asia Pacific overall | All-brands benchmark (all regions) |
|---|---|---|
| CPM (USD) | 0.83 (0.65 to 0.83) | 2.09 (1.83 to 2.09) |
| CTR (%) | 1.22 (1.15 to 1.22) | 1.13 (1.06 to 1.13) |
Asia Pacific CPM is low but rising: after holding between $0.51 and $0.67 for most of the period, it climbed through 2026 to $0.83 in September, its highest level in 15 months. The regional CTR rose from 0.95% in July 2025 to 1.22% in September 2026, also a 15-month high. The all-brands benchmark ended the quarter at $2.09 CPM and 1.13% CTR. No monthly CPC series is available.
Treat these medians as a calibration point for entertainment brands in Asia Pacific, not a ceiling. Pull the same measures for your own Facebook and Instagram profiles and set them against the September 2026 figures above:
On Instagram, Reels and carousels perform about equally, so mix them and keep single images for occasional use. On Facebook, Live Video earned the most per post, and status updates kept pace with Reels.
This report is produced quarterly from Emplifi’s proprietary social media dataset, drawn from the platform used by more than 22,000 brands worldwide.
Data collection: Data is pulled once per quarter and reflects the state of Emplifi’s database at the start of the quarter following the period analyzed. It is not updated between releases.
Sample: 2,183 Facebook brand pages and 1,420 Instagram brand profiles in the entertainment category in Asia Pacific, July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
