FMCG corporate social media benchmarks for Q3 2026 show Instagram at its best level of the period: the median FMCG corporate account’s Instagram post earned 55 interactions in September, against 14 on Facebook. Median engagement reached up to 2.35% on Instagram and up to 1.29% on Facebook across the quarter. Carousels led on Instagram, and Live Video drew more than six times any other Facebook format.
This quarterly benchmarks report draws on Emplifi’s dataset of 483 Facebook pages and 221 Instagram profiles in the worldwide FMCG corporate category, covering July 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Brands using Emplifi’s UGC solution saw these average uplifts in Q3 2026:
The figures come from Emplifi’s Worldwide Brands UGC benchmark, averaged across 68 to 83 accounts per metric. That benchmark covers brands in every category, so it is not specific to FMCG corporate accounts.
FMCG corporate accounts are a small slice of brand activity: 0.5% of brand posts on Facebook and 0.1% on Instagram, with 0.1% and less than 0.1% of interactions. The share tables are led by ecommerce on Facebook (31.3%) and fashion on Instagram (40.4%).
Facebook interaction distribution (Q3 2026):
| Category | Share of total interactions |
|---|---|
| Ecommerce | 31.3% |
| Finance | 7.8% |
| Services | 4.8% |
| Auto | 4.1% |
| Retail | 3.5% |
| Others | 48.6% |
Instagram interaction distribution (Q3 2026):
| Category | Share of total interactions |
|---|---|
| Fashion | 40.4% |
| Beauty | 13.5% |
| Ecommerce | 8.3% |
| Sporting goods | 7.4% |
| Auto | 5.1% |
| Others | 25.1% |
The categories listed are the region’s six highest-posting ones, ranked by share of interactions. Others combines every remaining category, FMCG corporate included.
Corporate accounts of consumer goods companies have similar audiences on both platforms and post less than twice a week on each. Instagram collects almost four times the interactions over the quarter.

| Median followers / fans | 38,885 | 48,215 |
| Median posts published (quarter) | 23 | 21 |
| Median total interactions (quarter) | 2,213 | 596 |
The median follows the middle-ranked page or profile each month, so one large group account can’t move it.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post interactions |
|---|---|
| 55 | |
| 14 |
Instagram moved between 43 and 55 interactions per post and finished September 2026 at its high. Facebook drifted down, from 21 to 22 in mid-2025 to 14 in September 2026, its lowest point.
Instagram ended September 2026 at 100% of its peak. Facebook finished at 64% of its August 2025 high, the bottom of its range.
Impressions count how often posts were displayed, whether or not anyone interacted. They measure visibility, not engagement.
| Platform | Q3 2026 median post impressions |
|---|---|
| 2,844 | |
| 2,605 |
Impressions for this small group of accounts are volatile. Instagram’s median spiked to 9,599 in October 2025 but otherwise stayed between about 2,500 and 4,900, ending September at 2,844. Facebook ran between about 5,700 and 12,900 through June 2026, then fell to 2,605 in September. Median Facebook impressions for brands worldwide fell over the same period, from about 1,500 to 779.
Median post engagement rates this quarter:
Instagram’s monthly median ranged from 2.24% to 2.35% across the quarter. Facebook’s ranged from 0.66% to 1.29%, a wide spread that reflects the small number of accounts. Instagram rose from 1.23% in October 2025 to a peak of 2.57% in April 2026. Facebook fell to 0.55% in February 2026 and recovered to its 15-month high in September.
From this quarter, Emplifi calculates engagement rate from impressions instead of reach, because Facebook no longer provides reach data. These rates are therefore not comparable with the engagement rates in earlier quarterly reports.
Facebook: Live Video earned a median of 106.5 interactions, more than six times link posts (17), though it made up just 0.5% of posts in September. Photos and Reels earned 13 each, and status updates 11.5.
Instagram: Carousels led with a median of 70, Reels earned 54.5 and single images 35.
